Children’s Dentistry
We’re committed to helping you raise children with teeth that are free of dental disease and fillings. Family Focus Dental Wentworthville seeks to provide an experience at the dentist that will enable children to be relaxed and happy. Along with being shown the right preventive dental techniques, regular check-ups will help with this. The Australian Dental Association recommends children have their first visit at 12 months of age. The first visit will probably involve simply helping the child ‘warm’ to the environment of the dental treatment room. We’re also committed to referring your kids (if necessary, and at the right time) for the right orthodontic treatments with good and reputable orthodontists.
Tips for Maintaining Your Child’s Oral Health
We recommend the following to help keep your children’s teeth strong:
Drinking tap water for adequate fluoride intake
Avoid feeding bottles after brushing at night
Encourage their own brushing as early as possible
Brush with a soft, small headed brush
Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is a child dental program that provides eligible children and teenagers aged 2 to 17 with up to $1095, capped over two consecutive calendar years, for basic dental services. Eligible families, teenagers and approved care organisations will receive a letter from the Australian Government to confirm eligibility. If your child is eligible, all you need to do is call us to book an appointment.
At Family Focus Dental, all services provided under this scheme to a child are Bulk Billed including check-ups, cleanings, x-rays, fillings, extractions, root canal treatments, and stainless steel crowns. Those eligible for the CDBS will have received a letter from Medicare (The Department of Human Services).
