When will my baby’s teeth appear?
Raising a baby can cause both incredibly joy as well as overwhelming anxiety and new mums and dads are often faced with endless questions about their baby’s health. And their oral health is no exception.
First teeth: The lower central incisors usually appear first, typically around 6-10 months of age. Then, the upper central incisors follow shortly after.
Second teeth: These are the lateral incisors, which usually erupt around 9-13 months of age.
Molars: The first molars usually come in around 13-19 months of age, followed by the second molars around 25-33 months.
Canines: These typically erupt between 16-23 months.
Second molars: They come in last, usually between 23-33 months.
Keep in mind that these are just general guidelines, and every baby is different. Some babies might get their teeth earlier or later than these average ages. If you're concerned about your baby's oral health or if their teeth aren't coming in as expected, it's always a good idea to consult with your pediatrician or dentist.
